Individual Safety Training

Safety Center utilizes the latest developments in safety and health to help ensure that your employees are well trained to perform their jobs safely. Students are provided with the necessary instruction to make safe behavior a habit. Safety Center provides both classroom and hands-on instruction. Our instructors also provide employees with the opportunity to ask questions and become familiar with the concepts taught.

These courses are offered through open enrollment classes at the Safety Center or can be taught at your location as an on-site training class.

Cal/OSHA-8: Challenges of Real World Safety & Health
Hours:	7 hours of instruction; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Who Should Attend:
	Foremen and superintendents in the construction fields
Overview:
	These courses aid student in implementing dynamic Injury and Illness Prevention Programs (IIPP) by addressing the eight core elements: Accident Prevention Accident Investigation Hazard Assessment (Find) and Correction (Fix) Responsibility Communication Training/Tailgate Meetings Compliance Recordkeeping All participants will receive quick reference materials that can be kept at the worksite and a Cal/OSHA/Safety Center certificate. This course can also help contractors qualify for Cal/OSHA recognition and exemption programs.

Competent Person Excavation  
Northern California Classes  Southern California Classes

Hours:	7 hours of instruction
Fees:	Member Price:  Non-member Price:	$130 $155
Who Should Attend:
	Any person whose job requires working at or near an excavation site
Overview:
	This one-day course covers Cal-OSHA statistics, excavation standards, use of protective systems, soil analysis, timber and aluminum hydraulic shoring and tabulated data engineering. Students are to bring all company required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)-hardhat, gloves, steel-toed shoes, etc.-to class.

Who Should Attend:
	Employees who may encounter confined spaces during their normal workday.
Overview:
	This program provides the participant with information to understand the requirements set forth in OSHA regulations pertaining to permit confined space entry. The program covers equipment requirements and personnel requirements for developing compliant and safe confined space entry operations.

Hours:	7 hours of instruction

Who Should Attend:
	Anyone who uses or supervises the use of fall protection. All participants must bring lanyard and harness!
Overview:
	This is a one-day class covering Federal State fall protection requirements. The course explores active, passive and alternate fall protection systems in detail. There is some hands-on training with fall protection equipment.

	Rescue team members who are First Aid/CPR certified and SCBA* trained

Overview:
	This program provides the participant with information to understand the requirements set forth in OSHA regulations pertaining to permit confined space entry. The program covers equipment requirements and personnel requirements for developing compliant and safe confined space entry operations.

First Aid/CPR Northern California Classes  Southern California Classes
Hours:	7 hours of instruction

Who Should Attend:
	Anyone who wants to prepare with OSHA compliant first aid training
Overview:
	Safety Center Incorporated instructs using the program approved by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). This course trains students to master necessary skills for the administration of CPR and First Aid to adults. Attendees will learn how to recognize a life-threatening emergency, how to provide basic life support and what to do in the case of an airway obstruction or choking. Students will also learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illness. Crucial information about how to deal with emergencies like shock, burns, strains, strokes and seizures is shared.

4-Hour Defensive Driving Course (DDC-4) Northern California Classes  Southern California Classes
Hours:	4 hours of instruction
Fees:	Member Price: Non-member Price:	$50 $65
Who Should Attend:
	Company car drivers or those who drive their own vehicles on company time and must meet company insurance policy requirements
Overview:
	This four-hour course covers the National Safety Council's Defensive Driving Curriculum. It is not a course on how to drive, but how to drive defensively. It teaches how to adjust to driving circumstances and how to anticipate other drivers' actions. Students learn such techniques as covering your brakes, following distance, delayed accelerations, safe passing, proper scanning techniques, and many more skills.
