Experience an organized approach to inspecting and auditing projects to ensure OSHA compliance and injury prevention. Visit both construction and general industry sites to perform an inspection and prepare a final report.

This course is designed for individuals who work on or near energized electrical systems and complies with the requirements of Cal/OSHA (at or less than 600 volts) and NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace. This course covers an introduction to basic accident investigation procedures and describes accident analysis techniques. Course topics include the reason for conducting accident investigations, employer responsibilities related to workplace accident investigations, and a six-step accident investigation procedure. The target audience is the employer, manager, employee or employee representative who is involved in conducting accident and/or near-miss investigations. Upon course completion students will have the basic skills necessary to conduct an effective accident investigation at the workplace.

This course focuses on the roles and responsibilities of the employer to develop and implement an energy control program, or lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) for the protection of workers while performing servicing and maintenance activities on machines and equipment. This course covers the requirements for construction and the safe construction and use of scaffolding using the OSHA construction scaffold standard as a guide.  Course topics include hazards associated with scaffold design, assembly, disassembly and use, types of scaffolds, determining scaffold capacity, employee qualifications and training, and maintenance, repair, and inspection requirements. Students will participate in workshops to reinforce concepts of safe scaffolding.  Upon course completion students will have the ability to identify the types of scaffolds and their components, determine safe assembly, use, and disassembly, and recognize common violations of OSHA Standards.

This three-day course is designed to enable students to recognize, evaluate, prevent and abate safety and health hazards associated with confined space entry. Technical topics include the recognition of confined space hazards, basic information about instrumentation used to evaluate atmospheric hazards, and ventilation techniques. This course features practice with permit entry classification and program evaluation.

Students will have practical hands-on experience during this course and are advised to bring the following – Hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, boots, work type clothes, hearing protection, and a personal water bottle.
