M.O.V.E™ Surviving Active Violence
Safety Center and Alvarez Associates have partnered to offer a 1-day course focusing on Active Shooter Response to give participants straightforward strategies and concepts to establish their own workplace violence prevention program.
Extreme acts of violence, such as Active Shooters, are dynamic, evolve quickly and often end before law enforcement arrives at the scene. How you respond, or don’t respond, will be dictated by the specific circumstances of the encounter. Your survival depends on your ability to remain calm and react quickly. The fight or flight response is often replaced with panic and fear for those who have not prepared for the possibility that these types of incidents may occur.
Overview:
This course is specifically designed for regular, everyday people who want to better understand how to protect themselves from violence. The program is broken down into three parts. First, we teach you to understand what motivates criminals, so you can avoid violence all together. Second, we give you tips and strategies to make yourself an unattractive target. Finally, we introduce you to our M.O.V.E.™ program. This powerfully simple strategy can help you survive all types of violence by giving you the knowledge and confidence to overcome violent situations.
Objective:
The focus of this course is on building the mentality of a survivor, supported by solid and proven strategies. One of the most common traits of survivors of incidents of violence has been their commitment to making it home. This program will help you build that commitment.
