This 1-day Traffic Control & Flagging program incorporates the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices  (CA MUTCD) 2014 and covers warning sign placement, proper fundamentals of flagging, moving traffic, and signaling directions used by flaggers. Upon completion of this course, trainees will receive a card stating that they have satisfactorily completed training on the CA MUTCD and meet the requirements of CSO 1599.

This 1-day course covers Cal/OSHA statistics, excavation standards, use of protective systems, soil analysis, timber and aluminum hydraulic shoring, tabulated data engineering, and competent person requirements. Students are to bring all company required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)-hardhat, gloves, steel-toed shoes, etc. to class.

Hands-on fall protection training that covers federal and state personal fall protection system requirements. Explore passive, active, and alternative fall protection systems and learn about the fundamentals of inspections prior to use, proper care, and use of equipment.

All participants must bring lanyard and harness.

This course does not qualify attendee to inspect equipment.

An extensive, educational experience of fall hazards for workers in construction and general industry. The class includes a discussion and practical application for determining job hazard analyses, proper selection of the correct fall protection systems, and how to design and implement your fall protection plans. The competent person will also engage in hands-on exercises in conducting inspection of personal fall arrest system per ANSI Z359 protocol and for Cal/OSHA required bi-annual inspections.

Prerequisite: Fall Protection, User Level completed after 1/01/15

All participants must bring lanyard and harness.

Confined Space Entry (2-Day)

This course includes classroom instruction, equipment training, and various entry scenarios. At the end of this course, participants will be qualified to act as an attendant, entrant, and entry supervisor. Participants will also fulfill all three positional requirements. Topics include: How to identify confined spaces, determining which confined spaces are permit-required spaces, how to utilize a permit system, and how to use gas detection equipment and proper ventilation techniques. Safety Center’s Confined Space training yard was built specifically to meet all industry needs including utility vault entry, manhole entry, vat entry and grain industry storage entry.

Hazwoper 8-Hour Refresher

This HAZWOPER 8-hour training provides a refresher for the general overview of the basics of hazardous waste operations. Training covers Federal and California applicable laws and regulation, waste identification, container and tank management, incidents command systems, toxicology, bloodborne pathogens, and much more. This program is created to address the general hazards that can be expected at a worksite to best protect attendees.

First Aid/CPR/AED

This 8-hour course will teach participants how to recognize a life-threatening emergency and how to provide basic life support, as well as how to recognize the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illness, including airway obstruction, shock, burns, strains, strokes and seizures. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive nationally recognized First Aid and CPR course completion cards.

Defensive Driver Course – Virtual Instructor-Led Training

This course covers the National Safety Council’s Defensive Driving Curriculum. It is not a course on how to drive, but how to drive defensively. The course instructs students on adjusting to driving circumstances and anticipating other driver’s actions. Students learn techniques such as covering brakes, correct following distances, delayed acceleration, safe passing, proper scanning techniques, and many more.
