Reasonable suspicion is a legal standard of proof to protect organizations from individuals that are introducing unnecessary risk to the company. Identifying how to determine if individuals are under the influence is only a single step. Learn how to respond when an employee reasonably appears to be intoxicated. Recognize how your organization can protect itself with plans, policies, and procedures.

Of course electricians have to be aware of shock, electrocution and arc flash hazards but what about the rest of us? We all use electricity and work around these hazards every day. Join us at the March Sacramento Regional Safety Forum to learn the basics of electricity and the harm it can do to your body.  You will come away with a better understanding of electrical hazards and how to protect yourself and your coworkers.

Michael Donlon

Michael Donlon is the Chief Safety Officer for the Department of Water Resources (DWR) where he provides safety leadership for over 3000 employees and 20 safety engineers.  He spent 16 years at Cal/OSHA specializing in enforcement, safety training and development of safety orders.  Prior to this he was a System Safety Engineer for the US Air Force analyzing military systems and managing the construction safety program at McClellan AFB.

Preparing for emergencies is a basic principle of workplace safety and health. Prepares experienced trainers to present OSHA’s 16-hour Disaster Site Worker Course. Trainers for this course will apply the elements of successful adult training programs, along with specific knowledge, skills, and attitudes to awareness training about safety and health standards at natural and man-made disaster sites. This course authorizes the student to conduct the 16-hour Disaster Site Worker Course and to issue cards to participants verifying course completion.

This course is designed for those who are interested in teaching a permit-required confined space awareness-level course to employees and other interested groups. Course participants learn application of standards, as well as effective instructional approaches and the successful use of visual aids and handouts.
This Trainer Course in Permit-Required Confined Spaces is recommended for inspectors, auditors, safety and health professionals and those personnel responsible for writing, auditing or training employees with an active role in permit space entry.
