This 1-day Traffic Control & Flagging program incorporates the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA MUTCD) 2014 and covers warning sign placement, proper fundamentals of flagging, moving traffic, and signaling directions used by flaggers. Upon completion of this course, trainees will receive a card stating that they have satisfactorily completed training on the CA MUTCD and meet the requirements of CSO 1599.

Traffic Control and Flagging Train-the-Trainer

This class will teach attendees how to effectively train in-house employees the principles of traffic control & flagging. The program covers and assists organizations in complying with CSO 1598, CSO 1599, and the 2014 California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (Revision 3) including:

 

  • Sign placement
  • Proper fundamentals of flagging
  • Moving traffic
  • Signaling directions
  • Proper barriers
  • Personal protective equipment
  • Traffic control plans

Students who successfully complete the course will be provided materials for training including:

Workplace Violence and Active Shooter Training

Teach employees how to respond to situations that could lead to workplace violence. Preventing and identifying these threats is vital for the safety of themselves and peers. Also take the time to teach them company policy regarding these events. Active shooter training focuses on how to respond and teaches employees how to survive. Understand the Run, Hide, Fight concept and what conditions make each of the responses appropriate.

Workplace Violence:
This portion will help employees make themselves aware of the potential for violence in the workplace and learn how to recognize early warning signs. Attendees will also learn how to prevent workplace violence threats and identify methods for de-escalation and how to respond once a situation becomes threatening.

Active Shooter:
This section will cover a history of active shooting incidents and teach attendees the steps that will help them survive in the case of an active shooting incident. This includes understanding the intentions of an active shooter, understanding the actions to take if running, hiding, or fighting, and learning the response of law
enforcement.

Together, this program is designed to provide a comprehensive overview on how to stay safe in high-stress
and dangerous situations.

First Aid/CPR/AED

This 8-hour course will teach participants how to recognize a life-threatening emergency and how to provide basic life support, as well as how to recognize the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illness, including airway obstruction, shock, burns, strains, strokes and seizures. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive nationally recognized First Aid and CPR course completion cards.

Hands-on fall protection training that covers federal and state personal fall protection system requirements. Explore passive, active, and alternative fall protection systems and learn about the fundamentals of inspections prior to use, proper care, and use of equipment.

All participants must bring lanyard and harness.

This course does not qualify attendee to inspect equipment.

Fall Protection and Inspection – Competent Person – Day 2

An extensive, educational experience of fall hazards for workers in construction and general industry. The class includes a discussion and practical application for determining job hazard analyses, proper selection of the correct fall protection systems, and how to design and implement your fall protection plans. The competent person will also engage in hands-on exercises in conducting inspection of personal fall arrest system per ANSI Z359 protocol and for Cal/OSHA required bi-annual inspections.

Prerequisite: Fall Protection, User Level completed after 1/01/15

All participants must bring lanyard and harness.
