Fall Protection Refresher

This half-day course covers a condensed version of the federal & state fall protection requirements. Not only do you explore active, passive & alternate fall protection systems in detail, you also get hands-on training with fall protection equipment. Topics include: fall protection fundamentals, anchorage requirements, system inspections, proper care & use of equipment, fall hazard recognition, fall protection plans, lifelines, and basic rescue considerations. Attendees must have completed Safety Center’s Fall Protection, Competent Person course within 3 years and must bring lanyard and harness.

This 4-hour course covers the National Safety Council’s Defensive Driving Curriculum. It is not a course on how to drive, but how to drive defensively. The course instructs students on adjusting to driving circumstances and anticipating other driver’s actions. Students learn techniques such as covering brakes, correct following distances, delayed acceleration, safe passing, proper scanning techniques, and many more.

This three-day course includes Confined Space Entry Awareness as Day 1. In addition, this course covers two days of intensive hands-on practicals of simulated entry and non-entry rescues. This includes using all equipment required for entry and non-entry rescues. At the end of this course, participants will be qualified to act as an attendant, entrant and entry supervisor. Participants will also fulfill all three positional requirements. Safety Center’s Confined Space facilities were built specifically to meet all industry needs including utility vault entry, manhole entry, vat entry and grain industry storage entry.

This 4-hour course covers confined space identification, permit required confined spaces, the hazards associated with these spaces and the regulations covering confined spaces. The program also examines equipment requirements and personnel requirements for developing compliant and safe confined space entry operations as well as gas monitors and system ventilation. This is a basic awareness level course. Participants will not be qualified to enter permit required confined spaces, perform rescues or act as an attendant.

Drug & Alcohol Awareness for Supervisors

This 4-Hour course covers the basic skills needed to identify the signs and symptoms of drug and alcohol use in the workplace. This highly interactive workshop gives supervisors the confidence to effectively handle sensitive and potentially volatile situations involving alcohol and drugs. Topics include: history, identification, use, effects, and symptoms of illegal drugs, as well as how to document behavior and determine appropriate action.

This 5-day Train-the-Trainer program is a comprehensive, cost effective method of ensuring that your operators receive training and evaluation that meets or exceeds all applicable government regulations and referenced industry standards.  Attendees will receive instruction on how to effectively train and evaluate operators of forklifts and aerial lifts.  This program certifies instructors to train counterbalanced forklift, rough terrain telehandler forklift, boomlift and scissor lift operators.  Successful attendees will receive a certificate of completion and trainer wallet card.

Note: Trainees will be sent multiple pre course workbooks in advance. Trainees must read all workbooks, complete the quizzes throughout and bring their completed workbooks to the program. Completion of the workbooks is mandatory and successful completion of this program depends on it.

OSHA 2045 – Machine Guarding

This course covers the various types of common machinery, machine safe guards, and related OSHA regulations and procedures. Topics include machinery processes, mechanical motions, points of operation, control of hazardous energy sources (lockout/tagout), guarding of portable powered tools, and common OSHA machine guarding violations. Participants will have the ability to describe common machine hazards and sources of energy, identify resources for assisting with machine guarding issues, and determine methods of control and hazard abatement, and selection of appropriate machine safe guards.
